The new item is the H-IIA, an expendable space rocket from Japan that has been employed to launch satellites into geostationary orbit, launch lunar orbiting spacecraft, and even send an interplanetary space probe to Venus. Although once operated by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), after privatization the 53m-long H-IIA rocket system is now operated by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries from the Tanegashima Space Center on an island 115km south of Kyushu. The H-IIA is a two-stage rocket, but modules can be added on according to the mission and payload.
